More and more people are working at home, on a part time or full time basis, either for another company or for their own, and the technology these home users are expected to use is becoming more and more complex.
Once out of the office, users cannot usually get the support they need from their company's Technical Support department - if their IT and telephone systems are down, communication with the office becomes virtually impossible.
In addition, many people are keen to have a PC at home for personal use, get connected to the internet, set-up a media centre, or another of the myriad of technological advances we are expected to keep up with on a day-to-day basis,
but there is very little support for those unfamiliar with technology. Many manufacturers provide a (premium rate !) helpdesk number, but typically it takes hours to get through and, when you do, you just do not have the technical skills to be able to
describe the problem sufficiently for the person at the other end of the telephone line to be able to resolve it using their pre-written script.
TechSupport@Home launches on 1st February 2007 and has been introduced to help both sets of users. We can provide remote support nationwide and on-site support in the Thames Valley region (but we are planning to expand this service rapidly).
